Nothing makes us smile more at BHE services than seeing the local community getting involved in various green schemes and projects, and we’re proud to sponsor the local schools’ Green Flag Award. Ince CE Primary School has recently been rewarded with its first Green Flag, recognising the hard work and efforts of staff and children in making the school more eco-aware.

How they did it

Ince CE Primary took part in many different activities, put in place new incentives and got the children involved in:

  • Recycling paper, plastic and green waste
  • Community litter picks
  • Observing Earth hour, with all laptops and smart boards powered down and lights turned off for 60 minutes
  • Learning about the environment during lessons
  • Helping Year 2 children to grow peas and strawberries outside
  • Establishing an Eco Warriors Group to discuss green schemes with students and staff alike

“BHE is a proud sponsor of the Green Flag Award, and we send our congratulations to Ince CE Primary, which is demonstrating how the Green Flag can not only enhance the local area but importantly raises awareness and engagement by the school community with environmental projects. The school is setting an example for all other schools and organisations in the area to follow in their footsteps and go green!”

What’s next for our Eco Warriors?

Not only has Ince CE Primary received one Green Flag, the school is now striving for a second by getting all the children and staff involved in even more green schemes and projects. BHE services will be supporting them all the way!
